Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.

ABOUT ME:

I have over 20 years experience of pastoral counseling, coaching, training, and teaching people through many of the most difficult emotional barriers and roadblocks that we face. I am committed to providing a safe space for all people, no matter their ethnicity, gender, religion, culture, or race.

About JoshI am based in Westminster, MD and while I am a relatively newly licensed mental health therapist, I bring the 20+ years of working directly with people with me into every session. I consider all of my clients to be more than just another name or appointment. Therapy is meant to be a completely individual experience, and I treat it as such, with deep compassion and absolutely no judgment.

I am an empathetic and encouraging therapist who believes in working collaboratively with my clients. You are an expert in your story, not me. My role is to come alongside you as we walk together and to listen for themes and meanings that you have given to your experiences and stories. We’ll work together to look for hope and to externalize / separate you from your problems and explore new ways to find hope and strength as you move forward.

I understand what it is like to experience a loss / change of your belief system and how completely disorienting and confusing this can be. And as someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD, I have great empathy and understanding for people dealing with traumas.

I am very comfortable talking (or not talking) about issues of faith, if this is something that is important to you, and have over 20 years of experience in doing this.

Some of the issues I have worked with:

Addiction
ADHD
Anxiety
Burnout
Career change
Change of worldview
Chronic Pain / Illness
College students
Depression
Divorce
Family Conflict

Grief / Loss
Integrating into a new culture
Job loss
Lack of direction
Loss of faith
Impulsivity
Life Changes
Marriage / Couples
PK’s / MK’s (I’m also both of these)
Religious Trauma
Sadness / Depression
Third culture issues

Are any of these things that you are struggling with? Contact Josh to set up an appointment, or call for a free consultation.
